Message from the President

Shitennoji Gakuen, a group of educational institutions, celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2022. The “Spirit of Wa (harmony)”, the teachings of Prince Shotoku, preached over 1400 years ago, are still being promulgated by Shitennoji University as part of its core education. This is the spirit that we cherish to nurture students who can respect each other's diverse standpoints, connect with each other, and establish themselves in the coming age, where new values will be born one after another.

While inheriting the tradition, Shitennoji University is constantly working to create new educational environments and continue to evolve. In 2024, Shitennoji University evolved into five faculties and seven departments. The existing Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences was reborn as the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Social Sciences, offering learning suited to each student's individuality and aptitude. The Faculty of Education establishes a new science teacher certification program and strives to nurture more high-quality educators. Another characteristic of the university is a focus on data science education to offer indispensable for solving management issues in corporations and local governments. The university will continue to provide learning opportunities for students to establish precious connections with many people, things, and events. We will take a new first step toward connecting "the spirit of harmony” to the future.
